Resources

This page contains links to resources I have found particularly interesting or useful during my studies of teaching English to speakers of other languages. Now you too can relive the experience of using Yahoo 25 years ago!

Colorin Colorado – The “premier website” for teachers of English language learners (especially those with Spanish as a first language) in the United States. Much of their content can be adapted for use with ELLs in different locations and contexts.

Continental Press – An academic publisher with a blog helpful for novice teachers.

MEXT Online Contents for ALTs – The official training and orientation videos produced by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for Assistant Language Teachers participating in the Japan Exchange and Teaching programme. In my opinion, these are necessary viewing for English instructors in Japan.

Stephen D Krashen – Home to many of Dr. Krashen’s notable works on literacy and language acquisition.

Thomas & Collier Research – Publications of renowned dual language education researchers Dr. Virginia Collier and Dr. Wayne Thomas, including PDFs of several journal articles.
